A Year of Growth, Creativity, and Community

How is it already 2025?! Reflecting on the past year, I’m amazed by how much has unfolded. I didn’t even have a chance to sit with my journal before the year turned (anyone else feel like December vanished?), but looking back, I’m so proud of everything I accomplished and the seeds I nurtured .I’m calling 2024 my “year of the watering can”—a time to care for the seeds I planted and watch them grow.

It was a year of diving deeper into my creativity, connecting with my community, and taking on bold, challenging ideas that helped me grow both personally and professionally.


Highlights from 2024

Quarter 1: Laying the Foundation
• Partnered with OKCLYP (Oklahoma City Latino Young Professionals) on a brand expansion and marketing project.

• Joined AIGA Oklahoma as Director of Community Outreach.

• Collaborated with the OKC Thunder and Patabajo Podcast for Noches-Ene-Be-A.

• Invited as OKC Thunder’s Community Co-Chair and highlighted at an OKC Thunder home game for Latino Business Arenas Sports Center.

• Worked on freelance branding and illustration projects for Bloom Real Estate, OKCLYP’s brand expansion, and Make Oklahoma Weirder’s Halloween in May event.

Quarter 2: Expanding Horizons
• Continued as a marketing mentor and pitch coach for Latino entrepreneurs in Stitch Crew’s Latino Cohort.

• Co-founded All Those Creative, a nonprofit dedicated to professional creatives in Oklahoma City.

• Launched an in-person Adobe Create Now event in partnership with All Those Creative.

• Traveled to Peru to experience the Festival of the Suns, an unforgettable cultural journey.

Quarter 3: Big Projects, Big Impact
• Launched Art 4 Gaza, a collaborative event with Plaza Walls that included artist booths, live painting, performances, and raised over $1,000 for Gaza through donated art sales.

• Planned, organized, moderated, and spoke at The Only Ones in the Room, an honest and powerful event at Oklahoma Contemporary about being creatives of color.

• Partnered with Western Gateway Elementary to share Guatemalan culture through dance, storytelling, and presentations for students.

• Became a highlighted speaker for the OKC Latino Accelerator workshop for Stitch Crew.

• Participated in the Calle 25 Artist Gallery with both illustration and needle-felting works.

• Helped organize, market, and execute Festival Chapín, Oklahoma’s largest Guatemalan festival, with over 6,000 attendees.

• Invited as a live muralist for the Plaza Walls Mural Expo.

• Collaborated with Boom Town Creamery on a bilingual sticker and poster giveaway.

• Featured as a gallery artist at Parlor through FOKAL.

• Invited to Miami by Adobe for their Adobe Community Summit.

• Partnered with Tizos Pops & Ice Cream to host a community live paint and paletas event.

• Freelance branding clients included Guzman Consulting.

Quarter 4: Finishing Strong
• Spoke at the Calle 25 Artist Talk.

• Collaborated with Goodwill to create holiday creative video content

• Became the featured artist for the Asian Night Market Festival, creating a banner illustration of the Kukulkán.

• Brought Fried Design Co to Oklahoma for an All Those Creative speaking event.

• Attended Adobe MAX as part of a brand trip to Miami, participating in their Design & Express Community Summit.

• Continued mentorship and coaching for Stitch Crew’s Latino Entrepreneurs, celebrating the graduation of the next generation.

• Partnered with OVAC to serve as a pitch coach for their Artist Entrepreneurship Program.

• Featured as an artist at Little D Galleries, Flora Bodega, and DNA Galleries.


Looking Ahead to 2025

As I reflect on everything that happened in 2024, I’m so grateful for the opportunities, collaborations, and connections that fueled my growth. This year, I’m looking forward to:
• Big new projects.
• Gallery showings.
• Expanding the shops featuring my work.
• More speaking and community events.
